Simpson County Schools acquired the architectural design services of RBS Design Group for the addition of a new 36,476 square feet gymnasium at Franklin-Simpson High School. The new facility houses a large NCAA-regulation size basketball court, which can be converted into two high school regulation courts.
The new gym can seat up to 2,250 individuals. The upper mezzanine features an indoor walking/running track, and also provides practice areas for the cheerleaders and dance teams. The new gymnasium has a weight room, basketball and physical education locker rooms, shower areas and concessions.
To maintain the flow of students during school hours, this facility has an indoor connector corridor that connects the high school to the career technical school, allowing students to transition from the main building to the technology center.
Currently RBS Design Group is working with Simpson County Schools on the addition of a band and choir room.
